1930s Chinese Traditional Dress/Qipao
I made this Chinese traditional dress to practice my making skills. The production techniques of Qipao are very complicated. It is required to fit the human body curve very well. I made it completely independently according to the steps from the books.
In addition, I also made Chinese traditional buttons and Chinese twining flowers/embroidery. These are China’s intangible cultural heritage. I learned and used them on this dress. More detailed button making and flowers making process can be viewed in the Skills.
Materials: Imitation acetate jacquard fabric, satin fabric, silk.
Original pattern from: Qipao Design, Pattern and Techniques.
